A little something we made at church Tuesday night. I bought more buckets to make more for the kids' teachers and some people that work at school and could use a little appreciation. Hope you all have a wonderful day. We are going to an Italian res

I was requested to make this cake for a dinner tonight. I have been wanting to have this cake since the fall, which is when I usually make it so they didn't have to twist my arm to fulfill the request. It isn't something that appeals to my kid

I hesitated to buy this set. While I love it and think it is a beautiful, I never seem to do justice to this style. The DP is awesome with this set and really makes the card. The first card I've made with my new "stuff" that has been si

I have seen a lot of these popping up all over. My kids thought they were cool and wanted to make them for their classmates. We formed something of an assembly line last night and spent a few hours making 70 of them. They all liked their "job"
  • Summer Ice Cream
on Feb 5, 2009 in stamping
I'm not one for stamps with a lot of coloring, I find it rather tedious although I love what other people are able to do. Perhaps a talent which I lack and don't really have a desire to develop. A year or so ago, Sugar Nellie popped up on SCS

I was so excited to use these heart brads on this card. I have more brads than I know what to do with. I have all that SU offers, Heidi Swap, Memories, and for the longest time I was into Queen & Co. Yup, I have quite the supply. I saw a card.

"What does friendship mean when you have 532 'friends'?" Not as much as some would have us believe; not as little as still others might maintain. As everyone seeks more and broader connectivity, the stil
  • Cheesy Broccoli and Rice Casserole
on Feb 2, 2009 in recipes
This is such an awesome recipe. I didn't quite use the 2 lbs. of broccoli that the recipe called for. I used all of the florets and 2/3 or so of the stems. I also increased the rice by 1/4C and added cream and broth to compensate for the addition.
  • black and white
on Jan 21, 2009 in digi scrap
I originally started with another page in mind but I didn't bring it together well enough so I changed the papers and elements and went for a black and white photo. I don't have many heritage type pictures so I dug through my husbands pictures.
  • Daisy Among the Roses
on Jan 15, 2009 in stamping
There is a poster that has a vase full of roses and daisy in the vase with a saying "be your own kind of beautiful". I've always liked that poster. While most people like roses, I'm partial to daisies. So, I tried to create somethin
  • A puzzling book
on Jan 14, 2009 in books
What makes it puzzling? I read it for clues to find the coordinates to a cache. I found the book itself interesting and in some ways could see a correlation between the economics in the book and the situation we are faced with now. While we aren't

This didn't go where I wanted it to. As I was working on it, I really wanted a more realistic rose than this. I'm going to try my idea with the Kitchen Sink rose later and see if I can make it happen. I can't help but think how much this

I pulled several sets off of my shelf to use. They are sets that I've had for a while and haven't made one card with. I still have many more sets to go, but I wanted to start showing some love to these neglected sets. I was originally going

All three girls have a birthday party to attend Friday night so I needed to get some come cards made (still 1 to go). I wanted the above design with the scallop edge. This is probably the only time I've ever wished I had Nestabilities.Stamps: Craz

When we were taking lights off of the tree and winding them up the kids brought in pipe cleaners and cut some up so we could secure them and not have a tangled mess next year. It is an easy way of doing it and we've done like this for years. Howeve

Just a quick card today. I have a lot catching up to do around here and I'll actually make progress with the kids back in school. I have to say they've been in school all of an hour and I miss them. I'm going to drive my friends crazy wi
  • Get Well Teddy
on Jan 3, 2009 in stamping
I love Kitchen Sink Stamps and the way the images layer to create something so real. It took me many tries to get the bear to not be blurred or the colors right. I find with the bear stamp, I'm better off working backwards to get the look I want.

Just a quick card this morning. I have a presentation to work on which I have been procrastinating and it needs to be finished today. Yikes! I needed a thank you card for someone that I overlooked when doing writing thank you cards. Our family wa...
  • Happy New Year!
on Jan 1, 2009 in stamping
The kids met their goal of staying up later than they ever have. We watched TV, had snacks, played board games, read and played video games. While their dad was reading to them, I had interrupted to ask a question about the story because my mind wa...

We try to have the kids write their thank you cards within a day or so of receiving a gift. Every day after Christmas they talked about writing them and I hadn't made the thank you cards yet. Of course, I over did Christmas Eve day with all of the.
